Mumbai faces power cut . So the rest of Mumbai may face 20-30 minutes of power cuts. In the area where I stay, there is no electricity for atleast 4.5 hours daily and it is likely to worsen. The timings are very inconvenient 6.30 am (actually 6.23 am IST) to 11 am in the morning. It is so dark, when the inverter starts beeping, you cannot see anything. The pumps also stop working, so there is no water.
The western and Indian media talk about India as a superpower, a fast growing economy, but the government in India cannot provide electricity. The media here only monitors the activities of film stars and cricketers, why don’t they check why the power plants are not being built or are delayed?
In China, the infrastructure is much better, here in Mumbai it seems to have become worse in the last decade. There is a lot of talk about broadband connectivity in India, but if there is no electricity , how can you use computers or the internet?
