India Targets Nine Million Broadband Subscriber Base By 2007 . The main thing people seem to overlook is that 2mbs speed is valid only for downloads of 200 MB per month , you can use your internet connection for a few minutes a month at top speed. You then have pay per MB of download.
Internet will never become popular, if the most  widely available ISPs like MTNL and BSNL are offering such poorly  thought out plans. In Mumbai, there is no reliable ISP offering unlimited broadband internet for a flat rate per month. So till then, I have to use my slow internet connection.
